Wits disabled sport seeks support

A disabled Wits athlete, working hard to qualify for the 2012 Paralympics in London, plans to remain loyal to Wits, despite struggling to find support for his efforts and receiving support from another university.

Katleho Sera is a first year BA student, who has lived with cerebral palsy all his life. “I knew there were disabled sports at Wits before I came here, but I don’t know who to contact about coaching.” This stumbling block has led to Sera receiving support from the University of Johannesburg to train with their athletics team.

Bank Robbery at FNB

ARMED robbers on campus made away with an undisclosed amount of cash after a robbery at First National Bank in the Matrix on Wednesday afternoon. None of the other shop owners or students interviewed by Vuvuzela at the scene saw the robbery or even knew that it had happened until  6 or 7 policemen arrived at the Matrix - the robbers were fast, silent and organised.
